Wow, that's quite a glop of solder. Might have shorted something out?

I got it working, then trying to put the stupid thing back through the tiny hole...ripped the one wire out again. Tried to solder again, and that's when this happened. Perfect square of brown??

I'd try to get rid of the solder blob, is there meant to be a conductor there that bridges two or maybe three contacts?

Is the brown a cooked something ?

That's what I wondered. The solder blob I could get rid of. Not sure what the brown is....tried isopropyl alcohol to see if there's something underneath

Qtips work a bit better than a cotton swab.

I tried q tip too. Think I'm still seeing silver underneath the brown, but can't get it off.
