I was looking at the sensor state of my mavic air while flying it and I noticed only one compass showed up, does that mean that the other one failed? Two Gyros and accelerometers show upScreenshot_20200423-200245.jpgis this bad? Does it affect how it flies if there is only one

this showing both accelerometers and gyros

Yes, the MA has only one compass but two gyros and two accelerometers; I guess the compass data is shared between the two IMUs? You know what's even more odd, the new MA2 has only one IMU - meaning it has only one compass, one gyro, and one accelerometer (progress?)

@Doppler there are many reasons for having only one of each, the main one is the amount of space inside the drone,as the drone gets smaller ,then with the added sensors it then uses some of the battery power to power them ,all this reduces the flight time incrementally there is also the fact that the actual components have improved as well which means that redundancy is not so critical ,and i think that the two of everything, was part of giving the consumer confidence ,when it came to spending what was and still is ,a large investment on such a product,in all the time i have had my MPP it has never had need for the extra components to be utilised, and finally,it is common practice in manned aircraft to have two of critical systems, and components in case of failure ,and they were also following good practice
