Update. I just realized that I forgot to remove a Polar Pro filter before shipping the Mavic back for repair. I hope they notice its on, or that could be why they believe the Gimbal needs replacement. I have contacted DJI several times to see if I can get more information on my repair or at least pass on the info that I left the filter on by mistake. Even if I do need to replace the camera I would like the filter back.

I crashed my Mavic after about 9 hours of flight time. The crash was pilot error and resulted in the front vision sensor showing an error and failing to calibrate. One of the front vision sensor cameras has some bent plastic in its way. Besides that, and after replacing the props the bird flew fine, and its camera and gimbal worked fine.

After sending it back to DJI for a repair estimate they replied with a quote calling to replace items listed below, including the gimbal and camera. I find it odd that they need to replace the gimbal and main camera when they seem to work fine. No gimbal overload errors and the Mavic landed upside down in the crash never touching the main camera or gimbal.

Item Quantity Unit Price(USD) Total Price(USD)
Front Vision 1 1 29.00 29.00

Front Vision 2 1 29.00 29.00
Service Charge 2 65.00/H 130.00

If you're sure that the camera is fine you should call them and tell them to leave it as is. If you're paying and it's not a refresh then you should be able to choose exactly what they do or don't repair.

It focused fine. The gimbal passed the calibration. The gimbal had no errors, even while using a Polar Pro filter. It concerns me DJI would charge full replacement value for a working camera and gimbal, with zero scratches on it.@DJI

Tried calling. I went front 11 in the queue to number 3 in an hour in a half on wait before disconnect.

You could try emailing. They'll get back to you in China hours, but at least they'll get back to you and hopefully be able to pass your message along to repair. From my one call to them I'm thinking the people who answer aren't in the US where the repair place is anyway.
