Yes!!! You can place the Smart Controller without any problem. The suitcase is ready for this. There are 2 removable parts of foam, to be able to place the Smart Controller. This suitcase is fantastic.

I found a folding landing pad on Amazon, and it fits under the foam in the top cover. Now I have everything I need in one great case.
