Have anyof youcome accross this serial numer #1581F5FH82481002P01A, as reported stolen or otherwise. I bought it off Ebay, I know that was a mistake, and it would not Activate. DJI sent me an email that it is flagged as stolen. This is the second one I bought in 6 weeks and the first one also showed up as stolentto. Shame one me! Does anyone know where I can by a good used one that can be activated: We are a small drone busness without a lot of capital to spare.

The link is only to check the activation time and the status of a units DJI Care plan
Post #2 shows what appears to be a stolen serial number. I don't run the site at the DJI.com link but I'm pretty sure the pop-up error message results from a drone that has been reported to DJI. When I use the link for ordinary drones, I get the normal details such as activation and care details.

I would think for any victim of internet drone scams, this information would be useful for you to check the serial number before buying a drone. You can do it online or you can call DJI and give them the serial number over the phone. While there are no guarantees (such as the drone being stolen but not yet reported to DJI), perhaps it might help you with your future purchases.

I'm not buying used drones over the internet at the moment, so I use the link occasionally to check out when my drones have been activated, what warranty is left, and the current status of my care plans. There is an owner's tab for your current fleet so all the serial numbers and descriptions are there as well. Been using the link for quite some time so I am aware of what it provides but this is the first time I tested it with a known stolen drone so YMMV. HTH

That is true. But I have used the site for years and have never seen the pop-up shown for the alleged stolen serial #. So, even though the message doesn't say it is stolen. It certainly is not "normal". And we all know that pop-ups and error messages in general often do not tell you what a problem actually is.
I think it must be taught in programming schools to make error messages as oblique as possible.

I would file a police report and also contact eBay to see what they can do about getting your money back.
Never buy a drone from someone who won’t show you the screen that says “unbound to account”. Always had them send a screen shot of each batteries charge cycles. DJI batteries are good for 200 cycles.
