Today I had the pleasure of attempting to update my SC from 01.01.0072 to 01.01.0076 and after multiple attempts via wifi and USB ports I was beginning to think there was a place opposite of heaven (we'll keep it nice) in reference to drone software or updates thereof. Turns out the problem was using my USB 3.0 hub because after all I never had problems before so why not this update? I gave it a thought and connected to my PC directly bypassing the hub and the updates in heaven have returned. So if you have an update failure and are using a hub, give a direct connect and see if it helps, it would have saved me much discontent and I hope it does for you as well.

I'd never have guessed that a USB hub could block DJI updates, and I imagine a few other drone owners will benefit from this unexpected insight should they run into similar problems.
I regard all DJI firmware update prompts with the same jaundiced eye that a wino regards sobriety. I cannot think of a reason to make even the slightest change to a drone that already works as new, bearing in mind the risk of there being irreversible performance-limiting booby traps lurking in those firmware upgrades.

Some USB 3 hubs can be finicky. The cheaper chipsets can be noisy and can cause issues with A/V equipment.
