Malaysian researchers have developed a method to transform the fibre found in normally discarded pineapple leaves to make a strong material that can be used to build the frames for unmanned aircraft, or drones.

I'm a bit leary of components that can decompose in 2 weeks. By that, my still functional P3 would be dust by now. Possibly my M2Z too.

That's also a concern of mine. Drones continue to be a test bed for new technology. It's one of the things that makes them so cool. Carbon is great but not so much for the environment. We should all be happy that people are trying to find alternatives.

I wouldn't to use a decomposable material in an object that can be exposed to the elements. A good use would be for packaging materials.
