My vacationing continues, and so does flying.
This time, I visited a dry lake bed where salt is extracted for table salt production.

Soundtrack is The Sound of Silence, as the place is quite silent and desolate.

Enjoy.

I know how hard salt water is on my boat and boat trailer. Ocean water is 35 parts per thousand salt. I'm assuming that construction equipment gets replaced quite often since it works in 1000 parts per thousand salt.

I suppose. I could ask the company owner, as his son is a friend of mine.

For what I understand about table salt production, the water those machines work at is at saturation. Henceforth, it could either be higher than the machines' max tolerance, or those machines are specially made to work on those conditions.

YAY! Superb work, Korrd. Glass-smooth operating.
You're right. Only in the desert have I heard absolute silence.
(if that's possible!) :)

Thanks!

I've been practicing a lot, and avoiding autonomous shooting modes as to not get used to it.

Nicely done Korrd.
The stockpile at the start was a nice touch before showing us the setting.
While watching it it came to me how salt lakes, and I've seen a few, seem pretty similar no matter where you are.
Yep nicely done there and do you have another clip from a bit higher up showing the topography?

I think I do. I recorded nearly 60 GiB of video & pics on that flight. I'll try to remember to post something tomorrow, once im back in front of my computer.

Well done and great music

Next you'll have to fly over the pepper flats! Just kidding...the Cumin flats are much more aromatic. :)
