For quite a while I've wanted to know what would happen if the Mavic met an obstacle halfway through a Litchi waypoint mission, but couldn't find out anywhere, so this evening I did a test.
I created a rectangular path, with a height of 3 feet, and a speed of 2 miles an hour, then sent it on its mission. I waited until it was more than 20 meters away from the home point, the distance where RTH is triggered, then stood in front of it. I was hoping it would trigger RTH, but no, it just stopped. I waited for 30sec or so, but it just hung there.
I'm disappointed, because this is not much use on a waypoint mission that takes it a long way from home. Fair enough, it won't smash into anything, but you still might lose it.
It would have been interesting to see if it did a RTH when the battery ran down, but I didn't fancy staying there and being an obstacle for that long.
