This is my first nighttime flight... and I LOVED every second of it.
It is equal parts terrifying and exhilarating. And I'm amazed at the low-light quality of this tiny beast's camera.
Shot in ISO 800, 30FPS 1/60 shutter speed. UV filter on (it never leaves the camera unless I'm using an ND).

Amazing! DJI has come a LONG way in technology.
Noticed it's 1080p. Did you try 4k? Wonder what the difference would be at night?

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS ,REALLY LIKED THAT WATERFALL

You did a very nice job; excellent video, song selection and length. Hope to visit that beautiful part of Mexico some time. Thanks for submitting and keep up the good work.

"...terrifying and exhilarating..." Yup... It's also addictive. I do a lot of long exposure shots (stills, no video) of motorway interchanges and urban lightscapes. Bloody love it.

I have been flying drones for over 10 years. Tried night flying first time a couple of weeks ago in my back yard. Totally dark. Couple of acres of open space surrounded by acres of trees.
Got it up about 30 feet 50 feet away and lost all sense of direction immediately. The lights were not helping. Wow! Calmed down and brought it down. Could be fun.
Maybe lol

Has anyone gotten light feed back in the video from the strobe we must use when flying at night in the USA?

I have the same question. A google search turned up this;
Key points about strobe feedback in night drone footage:
  • Visibility:
The strobe light is designed to be highly visible from a distance, so it will likely appear quite bright in your video, especially if the camera is pointed directly at it.

  • Flickering effect:
Depending on the strobe's flash rate and camera shutter speed, the flashing light might appear as a flickering pattern in the video.

  • Camera settings:
Adjusting camera settings like shutter speed and aperture can help minimize the strobe effect, but it might not completely eliminate it.

  • Placement of the strobe:
The placement of the strobe on the drone can influence how noticeable it is in the video; positioning it on the top or away from the camera lens might help reduce its visibility.

How to manage strobe feedback in your night drone footage:
  • Camera angle:
Try to film from angles where the strobe is not directly visible to the camera.

  • Post-processing:
Editing software can be used to minimize the strobe effect by adjusting exposure and color correction.

  • Specialized strobe lights:
Some drone strobe lights are designed to be less intrusive in video footage with more controlled flashing patterns.
