I have M3P with the Pro controller. I upgraded to v.14 but the histogram was not working cotrectly so I rolled back to v.13.9. Then later on I upgraded to 15.0. Histogram was working fine but the camera and video settings sometimes disappeared from the bottom right corner and I could not change any parameters. So I rolled back to 13.9 again. I made a pledge to never upgrading again unless something really worthy is added. Is there anything in v. 15.8 worthy upgrading?

Unfortunately, this research trail can be quick and easy or drag on for several weeks. One of the few stumbling blocks we contend with while enjoying our DJI products. There are those that will jump right in and discover what I tend to not want installed in something that is working well enough. We shall see.

It can be a headache keeping up with firmware releases thats for sure. I feel you BUT as far as whats "worthy"..well that part can be thrown in with a whole bunch of other junk that you may find important or not. The latest version includes a fix for a rare but known gimbal issue...Something you may never see OR something that will cause you a headache down the line simply because you chose not to flash that particular firmware release. What I usually do is wait some time until I can see any problems with the release before I flash it. There is no reason to flash firmware immediately after its release. You can find the latest firmware release notes at DJI's website you may wish to read thru that before making your decision when Flashing firmware.

DJI release notes do not usually go deep into details, like most other manufacturers of products such as smartphones etc... I read somewhere that this particular Fly version upgrade includes quick access to some kind of other popular chineese version of TikTok allowing easy uploading short videos. Well, that is the last thing I need and definitely not worthy to me...I think I stick for now at least with the trusted well functioning v.13.9 🤔

If your Drone is doing what you want it to do and you are having No problems I see no reason tor upgrade unless something really major occurs someday in the future. In that case you will know about it beforehand.

Agree. I have seen no gimbal issues with 13.9 or any other problems. Skipping this new update for sure..🙂

As a Part 107 flyer, the “rules” state to be compliant we are supposed to keep our firmware & software up to date.
Even if the update causes functional problems and sometimes makes it less safe to fly.
What are the implications of not having updated to the latest firmware if you have an issue that brings the FAA into it?
Say you have a crash or a flyaway , that causes more than $500 damage, and you have to report it?
