A bit in parallel to the 'on its last legs' thread I was wondering what people's current thoughts on the Mavic 2 Pro were. I'm still using mine and with an upgrade to my bike I'm hoping to get more use out of this year which is almost entirely panoramic shots, I've been waiting to see what the Mavic 4 would offer but the known specs show it's not moving past a 4/3 sensor.

I did have a good look at the Mavic 3 when it was released but on having a good play with the raw files the dynamic range improvement was less than I expected and with the UK not following the EU rules, the C1 classification was no advantage either. I've had a look at the Mini 4 Pro since it has less restrictions but the sensor is a step below the Mavic 2 Pro plus if I'm honest I mostly use the drone away from people and buildings anyway.

There's a number of times I've held off upgrading a camera then done so later although with the drone the cost of batteries and controller in addition to the drone make it a pricier upgrade.

I own two Mavic 2 Pros and a Mavic 2 Zoom. Since my corrected eyesight cannot distinguish between the footage shot by my Mavic 2 Pro and my newer Air 3, I still prefer the Mavic 2 Pro because it is directly compatible with Litchi and because it will complete waypoint missions beyond the signal range of the RC controller.

I don't plan on selling any of my Mavic 2 Pros until the cows come home. It is a reliable and rugged model that will fly just fine in strong winds, and whose footage is adequate for my hobbyist needs.

Been paying attention to reports concerning photo/video comparisons between the newer drones and the Mavic 2's. With the exception of the Mavic 3 pro: I can't see to point of 'upgrading' either of my mav. 2's which, because of the available SDK, have a lot more flexibility.

One thing I definitely don't regret is buying a mini 3 pro for urban and close work, but other than that: I won't be joining the Fear Of Missing Out junkies who lose all control of their credit cards as soon as a new model is announced.

Ha ha that mental image of credit junkies losing control of their cards is funny but true. DJI continues to innovate and improve the capabilities of their drones with each new release, but I share your view that the Mavic 2 Pro checks all the boxes for those of us who aren't in the ultra-competitive world of professional drone mapping and such.
