Franghthi cave is one of the most important prehistoric sites in Greece. It was probably first inhabited by Neanderthal man during the Musteian period 40,000 years BC, but certainly by **** sapiens in the period after 30,000 BC. To date, a period of 25,000 years has been explored through excavations and there are indications that the cave was continuously inhabited from 20,000 to 3,000 BC, when it was demolished.

Nicely done and you have to wonder just how far the coastline was 40K years ago.
Looks like it was quite an extensive site and easy to see from you shots.
the whole geographical area was a plain with trees. this was discovered by archaeologists. and in fact the cavern was very thin in relation to the flat ground.
