Gimbal overload warning

Had the Air out this morning and upon initial start up I receive a gimbal overload notification. Automatically I assumed that I left the cover on but that was not the case, I check the gimbal and it was was moving freely.
I decide to shut down the air and upon restart the notification was gone.
What could have caused this and if it happens again in the future is there anything I should have done differently.

I have had it happen if I forget to flip the landing feet out too.
