I'm trying to activate my MA2, following directions in the User Manual I earlier downloaded online. (No user manual in shipping box and DJI Fly has no selection to download an MA2 user manual).

Fully charged an aircraft battery and the controller

Removed gimbals cover - gimbals moves freely.

Removed tags from aircraft.

Updated my DJI Fly app (android)

Cellphone (android S9) is fully charged, powered on, and connected to the internet.

Connected cellphone to the controller.

Sarted DJI Fly

Powered on Controller

Powered on aircraft - lights flash, prop motors quivered (propellors are not yet installed), and a motor - perhaps a cooling fan - began to run.

I did not get on-screen instructions to activate Mavic Air 2. I've done these steps numereous times and in other orders and not gotten the activation instructions. It occurs to me that perhaps the aircraft was activated when I did the online purchase of the DJI Care Refresh.

I observe that if I move the gimbals control on the controller that the aircraft gimbals move.

Nothing else seems to work

A "Remote Controller Setup and Power On" screen appears. It provides instructions to connect and power on the already running and connected cellphone. I press "camera View"

However, cellphone's (connected to controller and running DJI Fly, display shows) "Connect Aircraft".

I press "Connect Aircraft" and get a screen to select Mavic Air 2, so I do.

I select "Camera View" as seems to be indicated in "linking the Remote Controller" section of the user manual.

The cellphone now displays a screen that contains several empty data fields - and the interesting message in a bright red block saying, "RC not connected to mo..." Note: RC does work to move gimbals.

Is my aircraft "activated" or not? What the heck is wrong with procedure to connect and power and the 3 devices and get Drone running?

there should be a Connect to..to click on . Mine did it so fast that I can't remember the steps. I know you have do download a update first but it gives a command for that. sorry for not paying more attention.

You might try to use DJI Assistant 2 on your PC or Mac...
