Hard landing, now gimbal does not work

Last night I had my drone up just above tree line to get a shot of the moon over the beach. when I was landing it in my driveway, the auto land did not work, as evidently not enough ambient light to assist with the avoidance detection. The Mavic (with elevated landing gear) landed hard on my driveway, and now the gimbal does nothing and the display indicates I need to remove the gimbal guard which is not in place. The gimbal moves freely when manipulated by hand. Sorry I am sure that there is solution that someone with a similar experience has posted but needing to use the drone at lunch today and stuck at work and can't search the threads. Any assistance would be helpful.

Might be a torn gimbal flat ribbon cable. You can buy one and DIY, if you know how to fix electronics or I might be able to help.

Sounds like a damaged ribbon cable. This thread goes into more details but I reckon the solution is to replace the ribbon cable. Good luck bud.

So just turned it on. while is was booting up, I noticed a tiny puff of smoke from the gimbal and the unit is hot to touch. Unit is only a couple of months old. Would the wiring harness have these same symptoms
