having trouble with diagonal lines in my videos

Do you have an example of these "diagonal lines"?

Also, did you enable overexposure warnings in the camera settings - that means overexposed areas of the image will be replaced with "zebra stripes" which look like diagonal lines to warn you about the overexposure.
The zebra lines only show up in the video while in the app (i.e. live view) and do not show up in any actual recorded video files.

And you can disable them.
