I just got my Mac air 2 in flew it yesterday .. everything was great ...
this morning I turned it on to check updates and now I can't turn off the controller wont go off I held the button down and it keeps blinking

what do I do?

Holding the button down isn't how you shut down the controller (or the drone).
P31 of the manual explains the correct action.

Using the Remote Controller​

Powering On/Off​

Press the power button once to check the current battery level. Press once, then again, and hold to power the remote controller on or off. ​

That's fairly standard with DJI.

I myself once forgot how to turn on my P3 controller when I got it back from repair so don't feel too bad.
