Hi from Sunshine Coast,Australia

Like many, I am a new learner at an old age and really do enjoy reading all the comments.
Welcome to the forum, you're in a good location with lots of great flying/photo locations where you are.

Like many, I am a new learner at an old age and really do enjoy reading all the comments. I bought a Mini as a starter pack and just love it. Having issues with sun making some snas and videos too light, but really am just learning to fly the little beast

Cheers from Down Under

Welcome to the forums - a lot of good info here. Also, the search function (magnifying glass icon upper right) is a great way to find answers to many of the questions a "newbie" will have. We were all "newbies" at one point.

Welcome to the forum! You’ll feel like a teenager again, learning all about your Mini and the thrills it brings you. You’ll also find that — to many on this forum — you are relatively still a teenager. ;)

Happy and safe flying to you, Sir.

Welcome to our forum, Chris, from Hauptmann in Texas, USA!

You'll find that the Mini almost flies itself. This can lead to overconfidence. Try to be conservative at first, and expand your horizons gradually. The Mini, at only 249 grams, doesn't handle wind as well as the heavier drones do. On windy days it's best to fly the Mini so that you have a tail wind on the way back.

Read your manual (link below), and practice using "Find My Drone". Chances are you'll crash and perhaps lose your drone. Don't wait 'til that happens to try to learn under less than ideal conditions. We have over 100,000 members from around the world--including many fellow Aussies--who will help you learn your new hobby! Ask for help when you need it. Share your work when you can!

Glad you've joined us!

Old age, my arse! I'm 78, and still wondering what I want to do when I grow up. So far, I'd like to be a cross between Chip Foose, Mike Patey, and Steve Irwin. It's never too late......
