Hello,
I live in Spain and have some mountains around me.

There is a mountain about 1.5 kilometers away where you can only get a drone and I would like to fly there once, but how can I determine the height of that mountain?

Suppose I lose the drone out of sight partly because of the bright sun, how can I be sure that I stay 10 meters above the top. There may be a simple solution, but I don't even get to it.

Greeting, Jack.

What AC are you flying? A drone with Occusync, or a wifi model? That can limit your distance.
Now as to keeping 30 meters above the ground, once you lose vlos of said drone, the only thing you have is the video feed coming from your drone. That's all you have to determine your orientation to the target/ground.

Keep it in small steps, going out a bit farther each time until you gain the confidence and skills to fly your bird out and back. Also, one thing to keep in mind always try to start your flight going upwind, makes it easier and less stressy when your coming back with a battery that is depleting. You may need that wind boost.....

Hello,

It is a Mavic Mini and I really want to know if it is possible to know the height of an object such as a tower, building or in my case a mountain in advance.
I don't know if there is a way to find out.
So when I send the drone on the road, I would have to constantly check the screen of the smartphone / tablet if I don't bump into something and I mean by that, if I know that an object is 100 meters high, then can I send the drone in advance to a height of 110 meters and then fly to it assuming that I cannot see the drone physically due to circumstances.

You could use google earth to check.

Maybe it's me, but I can't find an option in Google Earth to measure the height of an object like a mountain for example.
The ruler can be used to determine a distance, but as far as I know, not the height, but I would like to hear if I am mistaken.

No problem . In Google earth you zoom in on the object or montain (till you are on top of it) you are interested in and in the lower right corner of your screen you will see the coordinates and the height. Success.
