How can i tell if my gimbal is damaged or not working as it should?

I was flying in the snow, no wind and was using a wetsuit when the drone just dropped. Snow cushioned the fall, but two props were broken. I replaced them, but now im wondering how can i tell if my gimbal is ok? Usually even when the drone is off, when i move it the gimbal constantly moves to counter the motion. Not really doing that now.

Does it do the “gimbal dance” when starting up ? If so fly a bit and check the function.
