I did a couple videos last night using hyperlapse feature, the video was only like 2 seconds and it took like 16 min to make the videos and they turned out crappy. Anyone know of a good youtube video that shows how to do night time hyperlapse. I have looked but I don't know what ones are good and what ones are bad advice. I have seen some videos that say the opposite thing so I have no idea what I am doing.

To get really amazing hyperlapses in any time of day or setting I have been using Lichti to fly a waypoint mission of about 16-18 minutes. Then I have Lichti capture interval photos (not video) in RAW format. RAW gives much more adjustment in post.

Since Lichti cannot capture interval RAW images at anything less than 5 seconds (since DJIGO4 cannot as well and its a limitation) I just start the mission with it capturing one photo every time the shutter button is pressed . Then I use another auto button clicker to have that application click the shutter button automatically every 2 seconds. Then as the mission flies it grabs RAW snaps every 2 seconds.

Since these images are numerically incremented its easy to then bring all of the images into Lightroom and color correct one image and apply those changes to the entire sequence of images. Then create a sequence in lightroom and export. Then open Premiere Pro and combine into a video sequence (Hyperlapse).

Since the images are 4 K RAW photos for every one it produces a much better Hyperlapse!

Here is a video doing it the standard way as well

Dji Go 4 captures images at 2 second intervals. not a minimum of 5 seconds as stated.

No I think the op is right.. every 5 seconds for raw files. It’ll only take a picture every two seconds if your saving the original in jpg format.

I always save to RAW and it allows for 2 second intervals even with RAW saves selected. You do need a fast enough SD card though and that might be the issue the OP encountered. The RAW files are 40 MB each so a fast card is required.

I’ve done over 50 hyperlapses saved to RAW and have never had a problem with 2 second intervals. I shoot with sandisk extreme micro SD cards which are fast enough. The ultra cards are not fast enough

Hmm. I do not see a setting to capture full RAW pictures at anything less than 5 seconds and have read that this is a DJIGO4 restriction.

I never considered that the transfer rate of the SD card would be something that the DJIGO4 app and also Lichti could interpret and determine that the SD card was too slow so the application just removes that setting.

Now you have me very curious about this!

I am going to order a Sandisk Extreme SD card and insert in my Mavic Pro to determine if the SD card is the bottleneck.

I am currently using the Samsung EVO cards

If this in fact actually possible then it will save me the pain of having to use an Autoclicker App to snap the shutter every 2 seconds.

The biggest issue with hyper-lapse sequences with the M2P for me is the lack of stability at lower altitudes. My finished footage sometimes gives me motion sickness.
This was a test at about 60 metres altitude but it's terrible and image stabilisation software does nothing to smooth it out.

I’ve experienced the same effect. I was doing some research and have found the further away from any structures/objects the better off you are.

yes apparently that's right. I have spoken to Matt from Bluemantle films a few times (the best Hyper-lapses I've seen) and he has the problem too. It's such a shame because low level footage is really nice IMO. I've tried faking it by shooting video and speeding it up in editing... same result!

Ah.... I am shooting with the Mavic 2 Pro which allows for 2 second intervals. I have never tried it with my Mavic Pro which is now gathering dust next to my Phantom 4.

This one was shot from 60m and it’s not too shaky

My problem is just trying to find a spot other than the lake here, no big city lights .
That and really don't have a clue what I am doing but just do a bunch and stick em together .

I second M0J0's emotion, Dirk, and what an excellent idea as it works extremely well IMHO. But Lord have mercy, the time spent along with the number of batteries to create all those HL's, blows me away! Hours and hours and amps and amps FOR sure. :-)

Thanks and yeah it takes up a lot of power doing them . Like 125 pics for 5 sec's . Just the first part of that with the clouds took 1 battery .

Im not sure what I am doing wrong. I will post another video I tried tonight and it just seems like when I move in a different direction its like it jerks super fast.

Ok then you are doing it in Free and yes if you move you have to be so slow it is hard . In that one I posted I was doing one of those at the start and going backwards and decided to get lower and had to only drop it 1' every few clicks and still think I went to fast . In free you must get going the way you want and hit cruise and wait it out or you will have a mess . I have many I had to trash .

here is a compilation of 18 hyperlapses. Yes it takes a lot of batteries and lot of time. This took 8 hours of actual flight time lol.
