I apologize if this has been raised elsewhere, I did search for it but didn't see anything.

The article indicates that it is a 'concept' so take it for what it is. Screen brightness is not mentioned:

Very much a concept video... but I like the added real estate as Apple would almost assuredly make the screen larger when going more edge to edge rather than shrinking the size as its already perfect in the hand.

It would be nice if true. I ran the video on the YouTube site, the comments below it were mostly skeptical.
