I think I know what's going on. I think the cable is the problem. The question is, where do I find a cable that works? I need about 18" / 0.5m, because I'm going to use an "almost 10" iPad on a UZOPI Mavic Air Pro Platinum Spark Tablet Holder. I bought 3 cables, that are worthless, from Amazon knowing that for some reason DJI used a non-standard micro usb port on the controller. I figured that surely the cable labeled as compatible would work. Nope, I screwed that up. The cable (made by O'woda) was for the old Apple data cable and I need USB-C for my iPad, so that was my bad. However it doesn't come with the "unique" square end either.

Does anyone know where I can get a cable that works? Does the Mavic 2 Pro use the same oddball micro usb connector? I don't really need the big iPad so it's not keeping me from flying. I thought the bigger display would be nice.

the best way to connect your controller is using the USB port on the bottom of the controller,i get mine from Thors Drone World ,and they work well ,if you do use the full size port at the bottom, it will not work if there is another cable still plugged into the side charging micro port

The controller that came with the Mavic Mini only has the one oddball square mini USB.

Is the micro USB from TDW have the weird square form factor?

Never mind... I went to Thor's Drone World website and found this: "*Type C ConnecThor Cable is not supported with the new iPad generation. Currently we are un production for a new cable suitable for the new Apple devices "

So my problem is probably related to the iPad not having a "normal" type C connecter. Of course it doesn't...

i think what you mean is that the latest ipads have a different connector that plugs into the ipad, i have not seen the new generation ipads mine uses the small double sided plug that apple utilises

No sir, the Mavic controller has a square usb connector. That isn't the the "standard" form factor for that size USB connector.

The new iPad has a USB-C connector but true to Apple form, the USB-C in the newer devices isn't a "standard" USB connector (per the Thor's Drone World website).

I have a solution to the problem though. When I fly I use an older iPad with Foreflight. I'll just move the newer iPad to full time aircraft use and the 9.5" iPad to the drone controller. Or pick up a mini and use that.

i have just been on the TDW website what sort of ipad do you have mine is a 6th gen 9.7 wifi and the cable i use for the MM is an OTG micro usb to lightning

I have an iPad Pro. The 11" version. They use USB C not the lightning connector. The USB C port on the iPad is not compatible with the cables sold on Thor's Drone World website. I'm going to move it to my flight bag and use the older aviation iPad with the lightning connecter to fly the drones with.

thanks for your reply ,it would seem that they are going to make one for the new ipad version soon so in the end you should be able to use your 11 inch at some point
