IPad Pro usb connector

I guess I’m a little behind on info but I’m finding out that the 2018 and newer 2020 iPad pros have a place to connect usb- c devices.
This being true wouldn’t I be able to download dji assistant 2 on iPad and connect my mavic pro instead of using laptop?

the software is not available atm . So your answer is no it’s not going to work
