Hello,
When i bring my M3M low I see a new vertical position accuracy reading appear bottom centre that i believe uses the infrared downward position sensor. Does anyone have experience with this? Do you know the relative accuracy of this downward sensor when you get within 2-7m from the ground? And do you know if this sensor reading is reflected in the photo exif data?
I ask because i'm taking some very low NADIR photos of crop (i.e. 3m above ground). I would love to calculate the area covered by the photo to be able to do plant counts / m2. With known lens / focal data, i should only need the height above ground to calculate this. The "normal" altitude measurements are not accurate enough to do this (also less useful when 100 mag).
Note I also have not used the RTK feature on the M3M, and am not sure what type of vertical position accuracy it would give, but i would be really interested to know more about the downward position sensor / accuracy.
Thanks!
