Local history group asked for aerials of this site, ideally when thawing snow made features show up more.
It has been excavated in the 1950s and items found date it between 300BC and 100BC.
You can see faint outlines of a field system too, which is also very ancient.
I suspect the enclosure is superimposed on the old field boundaries.
It isn't Roman despite the squarish shape.
Ancient Brits did favour round structures, at least for their houses.
