Got a call from a friend, what are you doing tomorrow morning, he said, not a lot , can you help me retreave my mini drone, ok I said ,I'll pick you up at 7am , you will need your mountain bike,. At 7 we load up his car and head off, half an hour later we are bumping our way down a farm track parking up and riding down a mountain bike track, we get to the bottom and he says it's up there ! Well up there was 15 meters up a tree! We looked at the problem from all angles, we got a rope up the branch and got it swaying with no luck, in the end we had turns at climbing up the tree as far as we could get and cutting the branch down using a small pruning saw ,finely down came the branch along with the drone. Having one broken arm , but at least he go it back ,and had it flying a couple of days latter.
What happened was he had put the drone in selfie mode and under estimated the height of the tree, this guy is a very experienced pilot.
I guess we can all make mistakes!
