As the title says, mine has none of the physical damage that others are seeing. For anyone collecting the data, mine was purchased from Best Buy a week ago and delivered today.

- No scratches/damage on gimbal.

- Legs and body are in pristine condition. The rear legs have clearly visible gaps between the legs and body with MINOR contact at the motors. Opening the legs, the motors immediately pull away.

Batteries and remote are charging. Once I get the firmware updated I'll get the RE goggle connected and start the testing/validation of ailments others have experienced and report back.

Cheers

EDIT: Updated AC and RC to v1 firmware. Calibrated IMU and compass. Flew 3 batteries down to 20% with RE goggles connected and my sons taking turns with gimbal tracking enabled. The AC belly got warn but far from hot. Flew in Position mode but flew the M2P hard and fast as I wanted to give my boys a fun FPV experience. Zipped along 2 ft alt with zips up to 100 ft and dives back down with an occasional OA stop when I got too close to the tree lines. Trimmed some leaves a few time too when I took full speed turns wider than anticipated. Rear-facing OA kept me from planting a few times. With all the default RC settings, she feels less nimble than my P4. Overall 1st day impressions?... AWESOME!

The physical damage will happen when you fly it.

Just kidding, and a little jealous. Congrats and have fun with your M2P!

LOL! I like to call them "character" marks.

First flights in... updated added to original post.

I'm glad you had a successful (and fun) first flight. Remember the pause button on the RC. It acts as an emergency stop, stopping much faster than just reversing stick, and may save you from a drift into a tree.

Good to see no physical damage , I'm wondering if we will see less Gimbal scratches when people start getting deliveries from Best Buy , Amazon etc if they are delivered from UPS instead of DHL and FedEx ?
I believe there are two theories on Gimbal scratches 1. Gimbals bouncing around during shipping 2. Workers installing the Gimbal guard in a hurry . If it is #1 DJI could just put some padding behind the Gimbal, if it is reason #2 DJI could go to a softer rubber Gimbal protector.

For some of the finer scratches I've seen in photos I think you are right, it's quite conceivable that employees are putting the protector on a bit too aggressively. There are some photos however where there seems to be some pretty deep gouges. Those birds had to have taken a serious bounce for those.
