Hi everyone,

I have a DJI Mavic 3 that was modified using Drone-Hacks v1.
By flashing the pre hacked firmware from drone hacks
but I’m unable to return it to official stock firmware.

Current state/details
• Model: DJI Mavic 3
• DJI Fly App Version: 1.7.1
• Aircraft Firmware: v03.02.0900
• RC Firmware: v01.00.0138
• FlySafe Data Version: 01.00.1000

Anyone had experience with this firmware?

I tried to undo the hack using drone hacks v2 but that didn’t work.

1. The DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) Method Before trying anything else, ensure you are using the specific "Consumer" version of Assistant 2 on a PC/Mac.

  • Power on the Mavic 3 and connect it via USB-C.
  • Open DJI Assistant 2.
  • Look for a "Refresh" or "Restore Factory Settings" button next to the current firmware version.
  • Note: If the app says "No updates available" and won't let you click anything, the DH firmware has likely blocked the update server communication.
2. The "Forced Flash" via DH V1Since you used V1 to flash the firmware, you often need the same version of the DH desktop app to revert it.

  • Open the DH V1 desktop application.
  • Look for the "Flash Official Firmware" option.
  • You may need to manually download the stock .bin file for v01.00.0900 (the stock equivalent of your hacked version) and load it into the "Local Flash" section of the DH tool.
3. The "Update to Latest" StrategyIf your goal is simply to be "Stock" and you don't care about keeping the hack:

  • Try updating the aircraft directly through the DJI Fly App on your RC.
  • If the app detects an update (e.g., to a v01.00.1200+ version), it will often "stomp" over the hacked firmware and replace it with official code. This is usually the easiest way to break the hack and return to the official DJI pipeline.

Critical Considerations

  • The RC Connection: Ensure your RC (Remote Controller) is also updated. Sometimes a mismatch between RC firmware and Aircraft firmware prevents the "Restore" command from triggering correctly.
  • FlySafe Database: Your FlySafe version is quite old (01.00.1000). Updating this via the Fly App can sometimes trigger the system to realize the main firmware is "out of sync" and prompt a repair.
Warning: If you successfully return to stock firmware higher than v01.00.0900, you will likely be permanently locked out of the Drone-Hacks V1 exploit due to DJI's updated security.

Since it has drone hacks firmware already, you might be able to sell it for more than it would cost you to buy a new drone with stock firmware

YOU MUST use the undo all changes feature in DroneHacvks BEFORE you attempt to reinstall the OEM Firmware.

You have nothing to lose by keeping the drone hacks firmware. It makes a better drone and flying experience. By going back to DJI, you could expose yourself to some unwanted firmware updates that sometimes do more harm than good.
This is just my opinion and you may have reasons to change it back if that makes sense for you.
And as Nexus Dragoon stated you will need to use DHv1 version to reverse the firmware if that's what it has. I have done it both ways ( installing DH firmware and changing back to DJI firmware) and never had a problem.
Good Luck and Happy Flying!!
