Mavic air 2 Flir Mod

Before all the folks on here start criticizing remember this is a prototype. So my question is has anyone else tried to attach a flir or second camera similar to this one. Yes i know their are drones with FLIR already part of the camera system. This was a FLIR i had and wanted to see if it was possible to mount on a Mavic. I have not yet launched it. Will the senors on the bottom affect flight? They are not covered but the FLIR camera is below the sensor. I will still need extended landing gear unless i land in my hand. So really the question has anyone tried this. Total weight is of the camera is 314.67G. I'm using a Black Pearl for my receiver.

Looks like a neat project.

I did a quick search and the MA2 has a lift capacity of 500 grams so it may fly.

I bet you'll get motor errors and they may run hot carrying the extra load.

If the VPS sensor on the bottom sees anything within 0,5m (1,64ft) you risk to trigger the auto landing as soon as you keep the throttle for a descent on around 85% of full or more... longer than 3sec.

In addition to the acronym Flir is also the largest manufacturer of forward looking infrared equipment The company was organized in 1978. FLIR is now known as Teledyne FLIR.
