Mavic Air Range Problems

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone can help? I get a range warning when flying at around 2300ft/700m (see screenshots). I've tried swapping channels and got the exact same warning when flying at 2.4G.

I've got some work coming up with it soon, and after a test run at the location I was losing signal on my phone at around 750ft/230m. Bearing in mind it's video work, I could do with being able to see what I'm doing!

Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance!

All depends on where you’re flying you could have a lot of interference.

I was flying it on a beach, I'd imagine that'd be somewhere with little interference?

Your second screen shot indicates, to me, that perhaps your range is being limited by your 'Max Flight Distance' settings. Take a look in your settings where you adjust altitude and directly below, look at your distance setting.

Loads of variables involved with signal loss, but could have been as simple as the way you had your antennas pointing at the drone. If you have your manual handy, check the section that provides a diagram of proper positioning of the antennas in relation to the drone. To get much deeper than this, you'd probably have to upload your data from that flight and ask for assistance from one of the folks here that specialize in data analysis. Would also help to know what your experience level is with the Mavic Air.

I would like to say intermediate level, but I suppose it’s my first drone (had it for around a year) so probably maybe somewhere in between beginner and intermediate.
