I have been flying my MA for about 1.5 yrs with virtually no problems, but it has suddenly started to yaw quite a bit when my hands are totally off the sticks. I checked the relatively new props and found them to be free of defect. I thought that this might need an IMU calibration, so I watched the video on how to calibrate the IMU. I started up the MA in Go4 and went to IMU to find it stating that the IMU was normal. I don't see any way to recalibrate this unless it thinks it needs a calibration.

I also ran DJI Assistant on my Windows 10 PC, thinking that there might be some sort of calibration there, but all I found was calibration for the vision sensors. I tried to run this, but was again unsuccessful. It recognized my MA, but failed to connect despite several attempts. I updated the driver and tried again to no avail. I uninstalled and reinstalled the DJI Assistant, but it still won't connect. For now I am less worried about this problem than the yaw issue, but sooner or later I will need to find an answer to that issue as well.

Have others experienced this yaw issue? How have you solved it?

Sounds like it might be a controller stick calibration needed.

Thanks WWMav! That was exactly the problem. I had never thought about stick calibration, but in retrospect I should have figured there would be something like this. Now it sits rock steady.

I was thinking it would be a compass calibration or magnetic interference on launch. That's a very common reason for uncommanded yaw as the IMU tries to agree with the compass. Stick calibration issue is the other common cause.

I had calibrated my compass just before noticing the yaw problem. When I tried to recalibrate the IMU it indicated that the IMU was normal and the option to recalibrate was not available. So glad that the stick calibration did the trick.

I've recalibrated IMU before even when it was normal. It may tell you it's normal and not required when you do a check, but it still should have the option to perform the calibration. That was a while ago though so I'll have to check if that's still the case.
