I like flying long distances and was recently lulled into buying a Spark after hearing folks have gone beyond 2000m with stock units. I took it for its maiden flight on Christmas. One sortie was all it took for me to realize that the Spark was not a "Mavic junior". First of all, I could not get anywhere close to the advertised range of 2000m. The video crapped out after only 500m over an open field. The second issue was the video quality. The 1080p30 video was extremely soft-- as if it were out of focus all over. I thought that perhaps I forgot to click-to-focus, but then read that the Spark is fixed focus so what you see is what you get.
It wasn't all bad. For someone not spoiled by a Mavic and Occusync, the Spark is an amazing drone. It's easy to fly and kicks butt in Sport mode. Had it made good on its advertised range and had a slightly better camera I would have kept it. But for my purposes, it failed to deliver.
