LOL, not really. I just wanted to see how many Mavic owners have used the GETTERBACK and if so, have you ever used it to recover your Mavic. Also, I need some opinions on mounting locations and technique. I used Velcro so I can easily install and remove it. This device works in 100' of water by ejecting the float which goes to the surface. You then would pull your drone to the surface with the 10# test line. Let me know what you guys think.
This would give me some peace of mind flying over streams and lake under 100' deep. Also, I see a lot of people who have lost their birds that could have them back with this device.

I've found that mounting the Getterback under the front arms works well. The Velcro on the Getterback wraps well around the notch where the hinge is, and the notch holds the GB in place. You just need to make sure to wrap the Velcro as tightly as possible. I use one on both arms just in case one fails to deploy. I've used it mounted this way many times with no problems.

Off thread, but another great accessory worth mentioning, I recently purchased a mini CREE Stobe from the link below. A bit expensive but really helps visual tracking. These things are very bright. Drone UAS UAV Quadcopter LED Strobe Light. Depending on your location for shipping, these can also be ordered cheaper from another vendor in the U.K. STROBON Cree® Standalone - Flytron

Mounted as shown in your photo, I'd fear that the Velcro on the GB would tear off while retrieving it.

That's a good point. I pulled on it pretty hard and it seemed pretty snug, but I think it would be better wrapped around too.

I would be seriously worried about mounting that locator on the top of the Mavic like that where it is likely to seriously degrade the Mavic's Own GPS receiver performance and possibly become the cause of a crash or flyaway

The GPS receiver is in the back. Mounting a receiver on the front will work fine.

I put the GetterBack where Mavicsailor put his on the front legs, much better than my original idea because it's more secure.
