Beautiful video. River cruises are THE BEST. I'm curious...did you get Euro licensing to operate your Mini 4 Pro...or just "pay your dime and take your chances" with the Euro authorities??

I paid my dime, but I did check with the cruise company and it was OK to fly off their ships.

I watched and I enjoyed the entire video but I do have a few comments. Overall, I appreciated the documentarian treatment of each of the ports you visited, but found that repetition of flights (straight out and back and little variety in flying) and fast panning were detrimental to the story-telling. The live recording of the Viennese group gave a stately feeling to the video and I enjoyed that. I am guessing it was Mozart but I could be wrong.

These files were intended as "B" roll for much longer videos. I've finished part 1 but it's quite long. Here is a link if you are interested.
Around the World Part 1

Awesome video! Great editing job.

I liked the video and the music. Sounds like the Viennese New Year’s concert.
I think some of the shots were a little repetitious of the boats, and in parts you could have taken the speed back to normal from 2X.
Nicely done on the documentation of the cities. Overall, very pleasing.

Hi Hummingbird again. I watched about 90% of the Peruvian video, and scrubbed through most of the rest of it. Of course it is fine for family documentation, to show the grandkids, etc. My wife and I (86 and 80) have been on many of those tours, with many other couples, all over the world, in and out of busses and boats. For us, the Amazon river trip was combined with Equador, Galapagos, Lima, Machu Picchu, etc. We no longer travel in any sort of group because I need more time for my multi media photography (DJI Osmo Action, DJI Pocket 3, and drone, plus Nikon z8 mirrorless). My cameras drive everyone else nuts and I usually wind up in a fight.

I try to get enough footage and photo assets to create a 20 minute video and it usually takes me about 5 weeks to produce. I have a Vimeo web site where all of my travels are available. I also maintain a SmugMug (still photography) website.

I think you could capture a lot of the essence of this trip with some economy of selective editing to make is more concise and viewable. Just force yourself to pick out the most viewable sequences, and the rest stays on the "cutting room floor."

Dale, I know what you mean about group travel and getting the shot. But group travel has its upside too, especially in the planning part. My last trip was 55 days. On this trip, I found the Neo useful, really quick to get in the air.
Actually, there is a huge amount on the cutting room floor so to speak. I shot 1.2 terabytes of video. I had 6 cameras and 2 drones along for the trip. I've just posted two more videos, Amsterdam to Budapest and Lyon to Arles.

Thanks very much. All of these areal shots are for trip videos. Here is an example.
France, Lyon to Arles

We only now do solo travel. I do all of the work- from flights, to hotels, and itineraries. Some places like African safaris are no brainers- a daily game drive, etc. all built in.

I hire local guides for cities. It is a lot of fun in planning for me, and I don't have to deal with the dreaded jerks on my bus who complain about my filming, or taking a better seat (which I have had occur- almost leading to a fist fight) . Screw group travel.

Actually, sub-250gm drones are exempt from European drone laws. Check out this link.
German Drone License
Nope - tain't so. I am licensed to fly in the EU and have my operator license in Germany since we travel there every couple of years.
I can assure you that just because someone messed up in that general description on that website does not mean you can fly with impunity with a 249g drone.
According to drone laws in Germany, the basic certificate is mandatory when flying a drone. Get the A1-A3 certificate here
If you take the free EASA test you will find all this information.
Just as a point in case it is illegal to fly over any waterways that involve commerce, illegal to fly over critical infrastructure such as train and bus stations. I know for a fact the Nazi rally stadium you filmed in Nüremberg is within a no-fly zone.
That said I'm glad you made it out with no issues but for future use realize the Germans are very "hidebound" about following rules and the cops are particularly so.

Brojon:

Thank you for that information. I am planning a 3 week tour of Krakow/Warsaw/Gdansk, Poland in April. I already have been on the Polish drone site and registered my drone and taken the free test. Is there any other requirement that you can recommend to me?

Many places offer the EASA test for free and in English.
I took mine from a Belgian site others have reported Ireland as well.
You get your EASA certificate and then you need your operator license which you can get from any EU member.
I got mine from Germany.
You take a test and then the real fun begins.
Most EU countries require liability insurance for drones to the tune of a million Euros.
You can not - repeat - can not get any from any European outfit. Won't happen because the laws state you have to have an EU address. If you know someone who is willing to act as a postal stop you might be good.
What worked for me is my homeowners (USAA) has a "recreational equipment" clause that they say covers drones.
The Germans accepted it.
You can lookup posts from 3-4 years ago where I first went through this and posted links. I also had to fight with DJI to get a EU sticker for my Air 2S. I did finally get it but it was a real exercise in red tape. You won't have to worry if you have a Mini 3 or 4.

Sorry to bother you Brojan but I have already registered as a pilot on Poland web site and registered with EASA on their site. I am having trouble finding EASA test link to get EASA certificate. Can you help me find test link in English. Here is my e-mail so we don't take up forum reader's time.
