I've just been experimenting flying my mavic mini slowly around my garden which is full of variuos plants and bushes. See attached photo taken by mini. I have been totally impressed by how it was able to lift itself up over the plants as it moved around, not once did I have to give throttle input. I can only assume that the sensors have a very wide field of view and can see the lower foliage, allowing it to step up to the next foliage level. Anyone else tried this.20200601_121041.jpg

Yeah ... that's how it mainly works for all DJI drones. But be aware that this auto height change may work good in low speed (neutral pitch) close to ground ... but it's another thing coming into rising terrain with speed (negative pitch=sensor field of view points backwards) from height ... the Mini doesn't have the DJI Terrain Follow feature.

Good point. I was only interested in the slow 'cini' speed aspect of this feature but was very surprised that the mini would do it. The ground is level so it was only reacting to foliage, some of which were ornamental grass leaves (impressive).

I have over 100 flights on my mini, it is extremely impressive.
May you have many more mate. This has been my most sensible purchase in years. Well, apart from the Air 2. It's the Law to have more than one and being single means I only give myself a small bollocking when the parcel arrives.

I have a Zoom on order ;)

Looking forward to your experience on that one. In someways I wish I'd gone for that over the air 2. The zoom facility would be useful where I fly. It's looking stormy here so the Air 2 is grounded for the moment.
