Maybe, maybe not. The image quality of the main Air 3s sensor is pretty bad, at least for stills, while the Min 3 pro is completely usable.

50 Mpx sucking in a (mostly) undisputed conclusion. But not in a fully expected way. You would expect what 50 Mpx has notably higher noise and lower dynamic range based on pixel size, and it does. But the 3S has, in addition, circus like purple fringing.

There are diverging opinions on 12 Mpx. I started a thread in the 3S forum on this topic. Based on the few publicly available DNGs I can find, I am seeing a lot of mushiness in the main sensor at 12 MPx that is not present in the sensor of the mini 3 pro. And the mini 3 pro has none of the ugly color fringing in 48 Mpx mode they the 3S does. There is something seriously off with the 3S implementation of QB demosaicing.

What is really surprising is that DJI hasn't addressed this problem, which has been widely reported by users for a number of months now. When complaints about image quality and aberrations were made concerning earlier drone models, DJI jumped to attention and sorted them out PDQ.
