A quick history:

I purchased this Mavic Pro from an estate sale. Obviously it was as is. In addition, I have no experience with drones so I'm asking for your help to a total noob.

As you can see from the attached pictures, I've since realized that I have no camera circuit board and it looks like a broken cable for something. The camera seems to be holding on by a braided cable only. My 1st question is can I just take off the camera totally and at least learn how to fly it or is that needed for someone that has never flown before?

2nd question is should I just buy a circuit board and that cable or buy a whole camera assembly?

I appreciate everyone's knowledge and willingness to help!

I’m not sure what you mean by circuit board. There are parts that hold the camera assembly in place that you will need to replace. The wires may be damaged, but that will show up after you rehang the camera.
Plenty of youtube for what you need to know.

Thanks...I'll have to find those videos because I thought there was a circuit board in that area under the camera. I'm in the process of taking the body apart to unhook that braided line so I can completely separate the camera from the drone. That way, I can at least fly it without it just hanging there.

Before buying the gimbal control board
( which is what both the ribbon cable and
Video” wire” cable attach to, u should replace both ribbon and video cables..
You are also missing the shock absorbing plate and two screws that secure gimbal/ camera to plate...

From the looks of the pics your missing the covers that go go under body and protect arms as well as the two up front holding front of body on..

I just recently did my own power control module and gimbal control board so I feel I have some experience and knowledge of what u meed

Thanks. I see now that the circuit board that I thought was on the underside was actually on top of the black plastic where the shock absorbing plate is held. I found most everything needed, so looks like now I just need to purchase a gimbal ribbon and not the video cable.

Absolutely bud..
Have u got the screws that hold gimbal to plate?
How bout the 4 screws that attach plate/ gimbal board to chassis?
U know u have to take top cover off drone to install right?
Good luck and I think for $7 more dollars I would replace video cable too just in case
