Just thinking about smoothly switching between footage from my Mini 4 Pro and a hand held video camera. I’m guessing they need to share almost identical lenses so probably another DJI device….
Any advice welcome.

They don't need to share lens sizes, image dimensions or resolutions. You can even mix in still pictures. You just do it all with your video editing software to make smooth transitions and adjust views.

FYI I know you didn't ask but not a fan. I've only seen a few few instances where this comes off ok but the mix is usually way off, the transitions are not done well, and the general scene is so different where the author didn't even bother to scene match. It can be done and it sounds like you seeking.....so, good luck. Maybe use the drone itself as your handheld camera.

Thanks both for your comments - might be easier than I thought!
This was sparked by an IMAX cinema presentation I saw back in the 70’s. Started out as a car trip looking through the windscreen but the car speeded up and started to lose traction on the corners. It then slipped off a cliff edge which seamlessly transitioned into helicopter footage diving towards the ground. Everyone in the huge tent let out loud cry and my stomach did a flip! An amazing feeling but we’d been sucked into the car ride on the huge screen. Not sure I can do something like that but moving along the road and then flying upwards with the drone sounds fun.

Interesting.... I seem to remember seeing something very similar in one of the proper cinemas back when the world was young and Duran Duran roamed the earth.

I've considered a montage sequence myself, worked out which cameras would offer comparable lens and sensor using (more or less) the same control firmware. In my case that might be:

Mini 3 (or 4) Pro (aerial A&B-roll)
Osmo Pocket 2 or 3 (car cabin & reaction shots)
DJI Osmo Action 3 or 4 (attached to the vehicle front bumper/car door/bonnet for the vehicle POV shots)
