Heading up to the rim tomorrow for the first time with the MA2.
2 day trip, not camping.
Anyone have suggestions as to good spots to hit.

I am new to this state.
Everything around Mesa seems to be closed due to the fires.
I was hoping for at least directions to at least one area that I could fly in.
Perhaps if I included " working on my Part 107" I would have gotten a better response.
So for now it looks like I have $1000 + thats going to be collecting dust on the shelf.

If you want to have the mods ban me, no problem.
I have already wasted a lot more than The $29 that I spent on this forum.

I haven't ever been to the rim, to fly a drone or otherwise, so i cant offer any help there. I have gone out to Salt River Canyon, out past Globe, and recently posted a video in the forum from a place called the 'Boulders' in Florence for some future ideas.

Open your DJI app. Look around near you for areas that have no colored overlays, whether yellow or blue.

Once you think you have somewhere, open Airmap or Kittyhawk, and confirm that you're outside controlled airspace.

Done.

There is a site on line called uavcoach.com that lists 5 places in class G airspace you can fly in the metro area. I also look at "Kittyhawk" and FFA site to see where is allowed too. Close to you is Esteban Park / AMA Field. 3345 E Roeser RD Phoenix, and north of Mesa is Butcher Jones Rec site at Saguaro Lake. I know you posted last year, and I'm new but figured I'd reply anyway.
