The Moki Dugway is a 3-mile, unpaved, gravel road with steep switchbacks on Utah's Highway 261 that climbs approximately 1,200 feet up a cliff face. Originally built in 1958 by a mining company to transport uranium ore, it now serves as a scenic route connecting US 163 and Utah 95. The "Moki" in the name comes from the Spanish word for the ancient Puebloan people who once lived in the area, and "dugway" refers to a road carved into a hillside.
