Movario BT-300 Glasses and the Smart Controller

Do the Epson Movario BT-300 glasses work with the Smart Controller? My friend is getting a set for his Mavic Pro. I would like to get a set too, if it will work with the SC.
So no, BT300 will not work with the Smart Controller afaik.
(there may be an exception, see below?)

The problem has to do with the BT300 module AND the Smart Controller both running their own modified version of Android OS.

Its not the fact that they are running mod'd OS, its that its too complicated to have 2 separate OS' that both want control of the drone. (If you were running a Mavic 2, then you could use the dual controller function, running the SRC as primary and running the BT300 via the standard RC controller but I dont believe the Mavic 1 has that func?)

As I mentioned above, there may be some exceptions that apply, which Im not familiar with, which use a mirroring app of some sort, but Ive only heard of that on Mavic 2 and Ive heard its CPU intensive and somewhat unreliable... Could be wrong so look into that on your own, but I have seen posts tslking about it.

(Another possible solution?
I do not have first hand knowledge with BT300 but I do understand the products involved, for the most part. I went with the BT30E, which is the BT300 glasses w/ the BT35E HDMI module. (Its a japanese only product which is available on ebay but it doesnt carry manuf warranty.) The cost is less than the BT-35E but the glasses aren't ruggedized like the 35E. The good side to that is the BT300 glasses fit in a nice, albeit expensive, VR-like headset case called 'Solitaire ACE', which doesnt accept the ruggedized 35E glasses... The 30E glasses just mirror the smart controller screen via the HDMI module.

I only mention all this because I found it to be a good combo for the smart controller which has the HDMI out.

Theres a few threads on this that show good pics and links for cords, etc.

Ultimately, Id much rather have a device screen to touch VS a trackpad that I have to use, to move a mouse pad around the only screen the BT300 offers, inside the glasses.)

Hope this speil helps. I went thru the same searches only for the Mavic 2, as many have done I believe?

Good day,
JD

Thanks for the info. I did some research on my own and I am thinking about the BT-35E. I will look into the BT-30E. I want a simpler hook up than you get with the BT-300 anyway. The trouble is availability here in the Philippines. My friend kept calling Epson asking about when BT-300 would be available in the Philippines. They called him Monday and told him there is at least one set in their store in Manila. Good timing, my friend and his wife are going to Manila this weekend for a wedding. I found sellers in Japan on ebay, may be where I have to purchase from, but the instructions may be in Japanese. I will have to get more information.

Yes. The 35E is the one for the smart controller (takes the HDMI input). I have the BT-300 with the standard controller. I would suggest finding a standard controller and getting the BT300 unless you have another use for the glasses and HDMI. I say that because it seems to be a waste of the SC main feature- a great screen. You will also likely find it more intuitive to interact with the GO app and change settings using the track pad on the BT300, otherwise you will need to look down which defeats the purpose of the glasses to a large extent.

Thanks for adding your thoughts. So much to think about. I guess I will have to see how my friend likes the BT-300 and see how it works. Then make some decisions based on that. I was thinking of the BT-35E to keep all the connections simpler, one of the reasons for getting the SC in the first place.

If you do go the route of a standard controller for the BT-300, make sure you get the A version. BT-300 does not work with the B version.
Thanks for letting me know. I was not aware of that. Now that you mentioned it, I do remember reading something about that in a post a while ago, but it really did not register at the time.
