Hi,

As people contributing here shoot in various lighting conditions and different locations I just would like to ask when do you feel the need to resort to the ND 64 ? Would that be really extreme or a more common case. I realize without such ND you would have to face the following scenario:
f 2.2
ISO 100
shutter 1/4000

to reduce the SS down to 1/60 (ideal for 30 fps) with the ND 64.

Any real-life experiences ?

thanks
Greg

You pretty much summed it up.

The alternative would be to use a ND32 and go with 1/120 sec, which isn't bad either.

I don't have a 64 so I make do with the 32 and don't recall needing that much reduction in a real life situation, but I suppose it could crop up from time to time.

All that said, there are times when I'll even shoot at 1/30 sec. When not panning or moving quickly (producing motion blur) the results can be quite nice and smooth.

Thanks for reply,

1/30 could also be solution, but as you say rather in static shooting.
