I loved the articles discussion of the early models:

"...The motor, which was engineered to be capable of restraining a hungry labrador that has spotted a bag of sausages, was so powerful that when it was used on anything smaller than a shih tzu it had a propensity not so much to take the dog for a walk as to give it an impromptu flying lesson. Four peekapoos and a pomeranian ended snagged in trees, while the owner of a toy poodle claimed it was carried off over Hampstead Heath...."

I am just imagining a day at the park with hundreds of horrified small dogs yelping as they are being wizzed over my head and into the nearest tree. Perhaps they should develop "dog guards/cages" like the Mavic ones so your pomeranian won't get snagged in the tree he's being dragged through.
