I would have thought that DJI had figured this out by now. Coming from the Phantom 3 line I know this was very common but I didn’t expect this new M2P would have the issue. My very first flight went straight up to check this a lo and behold crooked.

Even before the first flight I did an IMU calibration, absolutely level gimbal calibration followed by a compass calibration outside.

My new Mavic Mini was spot on though so yay for DJI there.

Looks like the M2P gets to go back to DJI land for repair.

Your M2P isn’t defective, in fact, I don’t think that my M2P gimbal is perfectly level either. You can manually level the gimbal in DJI GO 4 under gimbal settings. Thumbswayup[emoji1417][emoji16]

Let me know if you think this is defective. I have seen other brand new gimbals being off here in the forums but mine takes the cake. This M2P is going back to DJI hopefully for repair and not a used M2P replacement.

Each of these pics are facing a direction. East is the worst by far with North being off as well.

Also, although I don’t think the M2P I purchased was used I did notice this after removing the weird gimbal cover. I’m not sure if this is a common thing maybe someone can chime in but the top of the gimbal was scuffed up pretty bad. I figured the gimbal cover caused it but who knows.

Where did you get your M2P, and what is the date of manufacture on the outside of the box? Mine performs similarly when flying to the right! Way off!

Yes, this is a common and well known thing and the cause is the design of the gimbal cover. During transportation the cover will constantly rub against the top of the camera hence the scratches. My M2P :

ok, good to know, thank you.
I need to find some thin felt stickers to line that part of the gimbal guard then.

Or consider an aftermarket gimbal guard for storage. There are many. I use the one by PolarPro... over a year of packing it around and hiking into the boonies... no visible scratches.

Purchased new from an eBay store.
Box says 12/2019
That‘s the only date on the box.
Mine said 11/2019. It appears there may have recently been some bad gimbals that were installed on M2P aircraft manufactured in November and December. Mine is being replaced, hopefully with a good one!

DJI replacing your gimbal or your whole Mavic?

Djidroneservice is treating it as a DOA and replacing it for me with a new retail box. They will, in turn, return it to DJI, for replacement as a DOA unit. Said I was the third customer with the same issue, as of last week.
