Occusync with wifi

@Speedster 1966 the only reason for airplane mode on your phone is to stop incoming calls when you are flying
i use a WIFI only I Pad ,and have WIFI on and Bluetooth off ,in my experience having them on or off has not made any difference to the connection between the RC and drone

@Speedster 1966 the only reason for airplane mode on your phone is to stop incoming calls ...
I totally agree with your response as far as you're responding to the OP's question concerning better reception. But there are other valid reasons for using flight mode. One reason is allocating as much processing power to the DJI app as possible. For instance, when I used my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (anno 2015) with my M2P, the tablet was clearly more responsive when used in flight mode.

I myself found that once I switched airplane mode on that I got a better signal and a little better range too. Hence my opening question. I'll keep on doing it as there's no harm anyway.

yes it does help with reducing the load on the processor ,in the phone ,by stopping incoming phone calls ,but of course this is not an issue with a WIFI only device or one that has a powerful enough processor to handle the fly App and it also helps if you disable as many of the Apps as possible that may be running in the background during flight ,if possible it is best to have a dedicated device just for your drone flying ,with as little as possible Apps active giving the Apps you use for flying the drone the best chance of keeping going ,without crashing

True, I have been using my SC mostly, but still put the plane mode on my phone in my pocket, because less 2.4ghz signals around, the better. Anyway Happy flying fellas and thanks for your input.

I always fly my MA2 with Airplane Mode switched on (iPhone 11 max) stopping wifi and Bluetooth signals affecting the Ocusync facility. I also make sure I turn off my Apple Watch even though with Bluetooth off it probably doesn’t matter. Hope this helps.

After updating my iPhone, I’m using the old phone (iPhone 8+) after running a factory reset and use it only with the RC. I still use the wifi at home for app updates and unlocking zones. That way, when I’m out flying, there is no SIM card. Just the way I do it.

Yeah, that's a way too. Everyone has their own ideas.
