Naturally it's raining again, so I can't actually do this today, but this morning I thought it might be fun to dig out the ol' Phantom 1 and fly it while having the Mavic Pro follow and shoot video. I know I can't possibly be the first to think of doing this, but have any of you ever done so? If so, how'd it go?

Followed friends drones for fun before. Have to always be communicating with them to avoid crashing the drones.

I've manually flown a Mavic following my P4 which was flying a Litchi waypoint mission. It was harder than I thought. Kind of fun too.

I've tended to do this whenever I have sold my previous craft, P1 shot from a P2, P2 from a P3 etc, last year I filmed my Typhoon H from my Mavic Pro. I've tended to see a bit of interference in terms of video feed but the control is always fine. Never done anything automated apart from perhaps an orbit of the Typhoon H with the Mavic Pro but I will say two craft moving in 3D space and getting close enough to see anything of interest is challenging and fun. Do it well away from other people and always agree with your friend who should climb and who should descend if things get too close.

If you have Autopilot, use their feature called "Airspace" and go on ...

My brother flies model airplanes and we were thinking about the same having Mavic follow one of planes from take off to landing but the weather came in the way while I visited him last week :( I think that would be a cool video.
