"PAUSE" button in a "RC sticks registering phantom inputs" scenario

Hello all!

I have been facing some issues with my RC intermittently registering phantom inputs from both left and right sticks (one or the other but never both at the same time). The phantom inputs are usually between the 10% - 35% range and disappear for a while when I re-calibrate the sticks to appear again after some time. I am considering opening up the RC and cleaning it thoroughly but in the mean time I was wondering if the "Pause" button on the RC would be useful in stopping the AC when this happens. I understand that the Pause button serves as an emergency break during normal flight and will stop the AC dead on its track. What I don't understand is what happens after that. Does the break stay in effect until the Pause button is pressed again or will any input on the sticks (including phantom inputs which are my main concern) cancel the break? The manual is not really helpful in this and only says this

Thanks for any answers!
