photo/video storage using controller vs phone.

I am wondering something. Now mind you I have only flowing my drone 1 time so far so I'm a newbie. If I am flying and take a photo or video using the buttons on the controller will it only save it to the Mavic. And If I take a photo or video by touching my phone will it save it to the phone?

It should save to both your phone and the Mavic regardless of how you take the image. The phone will store a "low res" version and the aircraft will store the original image; then you have the option to download the original image to your phone from the aircraft.
